Whoever talks with a fool converses with someone who is drowsy; when the conversation is over, the fool will say, “What is it?
Weep for the dead, for his light hath failed: and weep for the fool, for his understanding faileth.
Whoever talks with a fool talks to someone asleep; when it is over, he says, “What was that?”
You might as well talk to someone who is sound asleep as to a fool, for when you have finished, the fool will say, “What was that?”
Whoever tells a story to a fool tells it to a drowsy man; and at the end he will say, ‘What is it?’
